Obituary of Mary Kavanagh

Mary Virginia Kavanagh (nee Wertz) Age 93, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2016 in Venice, Florida where she was currently residing. Born May 26, 1922 in Chicago, she lived her early and later years of her life in Beverly, Joliet and Barrington, IL before retiring to Florida. Retired from the Continental Bank in international banking after many years of service. Formerly employed by the Internal Revenue Service. Survived by two nieces, Carrie (Stephen) Sloan of Billings, MT and Martha Wertz of Denver, CO; three nephews, Stephen, Dr. Joseph and Dr. David Wertz; two cousins, Jack (Marcia) Feely of Albuquerque, NM and Dan (Marsha) Feely of Lipan, TX; two cousins-in-law, Jack (the late Mary Cele) Uedelhofan and Janice (Gerald) Burke, both of Joliet. Preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Frank A. and Bernice B. (nee Burke) Wertz; her husband, William Kavanagh; brother, Dr. Robert (Eleanor) Wertz; and nephew, Robert Wertz. Funeral Services for Mary Virginia Kavanagh will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, IL. to St. Patrick Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
