Obituary of Mary Kluge

Mary J. Kluge (nee Brown) "Mayme" Age 93. Passed away Friday, May 20, 2016 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice home. Born March 23, 1923 in Pontiac, IL and a lifelong Joliet area resident. A lifetime member of the P.T.A. and an avid bowler and Bingo player. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Herman E. Kluge (2006); one daughter, Martha (Leonard) Uhler; her parents, Charles and Anna Brown; two sisters, Viva (LeRoy) Lewis and Electra (Adam) Pomykala; one brother, Morris (Helen) Brown; and one niece, Terry Brown. Surviving are two daughters, Donna Reid of Demotte, IN and Lori (Michael) Holmes of Morris; one son, James J. Kluge of Coal City; eight grandchildren, Teri (Todd) Baum, Tana (Mat) Evers, Bradley and Kendall Reid, Hayley and Nicholas Holmes, Marissa (Jeff) Cerney and Grant (fiancée Katie Whitman) Kluge; two step-grandsons, Jeremy Holmes and Jon (Laura) Holmes; two great-grandchildren, Kyle and Logan Baum; one step-great-granddaughter, Layla Holmes; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Joliet Area Community Hospice and Harvest Home Health Care for their loving care and support. Funeral services for Mary J. Kluge will be held Monday, May 23, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorials in her name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. Visitation Sunday, 2-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
