Obituary of Carolyn Hutten
Carolyn J. Hutten
(nee Hermanski)
Age 71, of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center with her family by her side.
Born March 15, 1945 in Chicago, she was the daughter of Richard S. and Virginia J. (Baczynski) Hermanski. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of St. Francis, and went on to receive a Masters degree from the National College of Education.
Carolyn devoted her life to education serving as both a teacher and Dean of Students, primarily with Valley View School District #365U in Romeoville, retiring after 30 years of service.
She enjoyed getting together with her friends through their social groups, the College Club and the Birthday Club. A breast cancer survivor, she also actively supported various breast cancer and diabetes organizations with both her time and resources.
Her greatest pride and joy, however, were her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. She was blessed with many life long friendships, both students and a large circle of friends, all of whom meant the world to her.
Surviving are one son, Mark (Sue Berg) Hutten of Plainfield, twin daughters, Laura (Phil Pacione) Pawlak of Homer Glen and Linda (Troy) Peifer of Shorewood, MN; her precious grandchildren, John and Kelly Hutten, Katelyn Berg, Jacqueline Pawlak, and Lindsay, Ashley and Luke Peifer; her mother, Virginia J. (Andrew) Husar; one brother, Jack (Bethenia Salinas) Hermanski; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded by her beloved husband, Lawrence J. Hutten (April 12, 2003); and her father, Richard S. Hermanski.
The family would like to thank Davita Dialysis and the Church of St. Jude who were so supportive and accommodating during the final years of her life.
