Madelyn J. Stanfield
(nee Barnes)
Age 95, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Brookdale of Joliet.
Born October 12, 1920 in Washburn , IL she was the daughter of William Henry and Anna May (Moulton) Barnes, and was a graduate of Washburn High School. She married Donald T. Stanfield on August 20, 1938 in Washburn, and he preceded her in death on December 22, 2001.
Madelyn was a devoted wife and mother and a loving and caring grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Senior's group of the church, and The King's Daughters.
Surviving are her five children, Connie (Jim) Vahle of Plainfield, Sally (Joal) Ott of Joliet, Ann (late Dennis) Kimbro of Nashville, TN, Gary (Gloria) Stanfield of Morton, IL and Richard (Linda) Stanfield of Las Vegas, NV; 17 grandchildren, Jodie (Gregg) Stewart, Dan (Denise) Baehner, Tad Boehner, Donna (Richard) Scopp, Jim Ott, Debbie Blake, Chuck (Kelli) Keltz, Don (Sarah) Keltz, Rick (Tania) Keltz, Brian Keltz, April (Joe) Hengst, Brice (Jackie) Stanfield, the late Joal (Kiyle) Stanfield, Jill (Eric) Larson, Joli (Eric) Stevenson, Jaime (Rob) Snyder, and Matt (Mary) Stanfield; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by her husband, parents, one grandson, and eight brothers and sisters.
The family wishes to thank Brookdale of Joliet and Great Lakes Hospice for the loving care their mother received.
Funeral services for Madelyn Stanfield will be held Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 1718 Avalon Ave, Joliet, where she will Lie-in-State from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet.
