"Denny"
Age 65, a lifetime Joliet resident, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
He was born August 8, 1946 to the late Ruth (nee Wojtinski) and Hubert Alstott.
Devoted and beloved husband of 45 years to Jeanne (nee Schmidt); Loving father of Mark (Michelle) Alstott, and their children Olivia and Emma, of Joliet and Mike (Nicole) Alstott, and their children, Griffin, Hannah and Lexie Jo, of St. Petersburg, FL. He is also survived by two aunts, Betty Peterson of Joliet and Lillian (Bill) Sewell of Indiana; one uncle, Charles (Joy) Alstott of Indianapolis; two cousins, Sandy (Mike) Smith and Lori Peterson. He will also be missed by Cooper, his beloved Schnauzer.
Preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Mary Wojtinski Canfield, George Wojtinski; Ader May Rector and Jim Alstott of Indiana; father-in-law, Ralph Schmidt.
Dennis was a U.S. Marine Corp. Veteran who served in Vietnam. He was a member of VFW Cantigny Post #367, American Legion Post #1080, Loyal Order of Moose, Joliet Lodge #300 and a 39 year member of the Teamsters Union, local #179.
He was a sports enthusiast, a huge fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Green Bay Packers, and an avid hunter, always looking forward to the annual West Virginia trip with his father. He also enjoyed his Winter residence in St. Petersburg, FL.
Funeral services for Dennis Alstott will be held Saturday, October 8, 2011, 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Crest Hill, Mass 10:00 a.m.. Entombment will be private at Woodlawn Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to St. Ambrose Church would be appreciated. Visitation Friday 4-8 p.m. at:
