Obituary of Genevieve J. Casanova

Genevieve J. Casanova (nee Kassel) Age 99. Peacefully at rest Thursday, July 14, 2016. Born August 21,1916 in Wheeling, Illinois to Robert and Emma (nee Wing) Kassel. Member of C.C.W. and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Joliet Rivals Club. Charter member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Survived by one son, Joseph (Patricia) Casanova of Shorewood and one daughter, Sandra (Fred) Kelly of Joliet; ten grandchildren, Michael Kelly, Kristine Loy, Ed Papesh, Michelle Papesh, Denise (Dan) Wisemantle, Shaun (Megan) Kelly, Shane Kelly, Jason (Andrea) Casanova, Jacob (Suzanne) Casanova and Jillian (Jeff) Mancini; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Roberta Khrone. Preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, William Hipp; husband of 64 years, Joseph (2005); and numerous brothers and sisters. Funeral and interment were held privately for the immediate family only. Memorials in her name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Fred C.
