Obituary of Charles M Lombardi

Charles M. Lombardi Age 59, of Braidwood, passed away Friday, July 15, 2016 at the Citadel Nursing Home in Kankakee. Born July 8, 1957 in Chicago, he was the son of Charles and Frances (Zavidosky) Lombardi, and was a graduate of Joliet Junior College. He worked for Exxon-Mobil as a machinist and planner from 1978 until his retirement in 2011. Chuck enjoyed golfing and fishing with his sons, and was an avid NASCAR fan and a Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. He will be remembered as a devoted husband and a loving and caring father. Surviving are his beloved wife, Cheryl R. (nee Petty) Lombardi; his two cherished sons, Chad M. Lombardi and Chris Lombardi, all of Braidwood; his loving mother, Frances Lombardi of Wilmington; one sister, JoAnne (Michael) Jostes of Wilmington; one niece, Valerie Jostes; and one nephew, Steven Jostes. He is also survived by numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews from the Petty family who will truly miss him. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services for Charles M. Lombardi will be held Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church, 603 S. Main St, Wilmington, where he will Lie-in-State from 10:30 until time of services. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet. Visitation will be held Wednesday, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet.
