Mary Jane Covarrubia
(nee Hedrick)
Age 78, of Joliet, passed away peacefully at home, Thursday, December 9, 2010. Born January 16, 1932 in Joliet to the late Eugene and Margaret (Fanning) Hedrick, she was a lifetime resident.
Survived by her children, Tom Covarrubia, Tim (Lynn) Covarrubia, Janet Covarrubia, Rich (Janet) Covarrubia, and Karen Covarrubia; five grandchildren, Craig (Kim), Tiffany, T.J., Christopher, and Trisha; one sister, Pauline (late Dan) Martinez; brother-in-law, Jim Miner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, John Covarrubia; parents, Eugene and Margaret (nee Fanning) Hedrick; and one sister, Doris Miner.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Mary Jane was also known as "Mrs. C" to all the neighborhood kids. She will fondly be remembered as a very loving and kind soul. She was a member, along with her late husband, of the Caterpillar/Local #851 Retirees Club.
The Covarrubia family will always be grateful to the compassionate caregivers of Joliet Area Community Hospice.
Funeral Services for Mary Jane Covarrubia will be Monday, December 13, 2010 at 11:15 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Karl Hess officiating. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. Visitation Sunday 2-6 p.m. at:
