"Ed"
Age 65. At rest Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Paint Rock, AL, and a Joliet area resident since 1954. Graduate of Joliet Central High School. A retired truck driver with Teamsters Union Local #179. Member of Fraternal Order of Eagles. A dedicated Cubs fan, loved NASCAR racing, enjoyed playing pool and fishing.
Survived are his three children, Bevie Sue (Brian) Wonder of Aurora, CO, Melissa Jenkins (Michael) Thomas of Canyon City, CO and Jeffrey James (Virginia) Long of Bourbonnais, IL; eight grandchildren; his mother, Nancy Gladys (Knight) Long of Joliet; siblings, Nancy (Thomas) Klover of Joliet, Richard Anthony (Denise) Long of Joliet and Judy Kay (Michael) Stanislawski of Joliet; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his father, Richard Felix Long (1984).
Funeral Services for Ed Long will be held TODAY, Friday, July 22, 2016 at 12 Noon at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. Visitation Friday morning, 10:00 a.m. until time of service. For more information: (815) 741-5500.
