Margaret was a special woman. She helped me understand compassion for everyone with special needs. A few of my favorite memories were from her 50th birthday celebration. My niece Darby was only 10 at the time, but I remember her talking to Margaret. I don't remember the words they exchanged, but Darby displayed a kindness to Margaret and treated her like everyone else. Margaret did the same to Darby. My other favorite memory is how my brother Sean was her favorite...because he took her to ice cream in the little red car. Another simple gesture but lasting one.
