Obituary of Lawrence R. Olszewski

Lawrence R. Olszewski Age 72, passed away peacefully, Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Joliet Area Community Hospice with his family at his side. Larry was born October 7, 1943 in Chicago, the son of John and Virginia (Wojka) Olszewski. Formerly of Chicago and Tinley Park, he has been a resident of Joliet since 1995. Surviving are his beloved wife, Margie (Roldan) Olszewski; three children, Susan, Amanda and Christopher Olszewski; one grandson, Ethan; and one brother, Robert (late Carmen) Olszewski. He was preceded by his parents, and one brother, Daniel Olszewski. Larry was a devoted husband and a loving and caring father and grandfather. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed building radio controlled airplanes, and loved watching all the Rocky movies. He will be remembered for being his grandson's fishing and breakfast partner. His family will miss his Potatoes O'Brien and French Toast. Funeral services for Lawrence Olszewski will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to a college fund for his grandson, Ethan, would be appreciated.
