Obituary of Robert Cranmer
Robert E. Cranmer
Age 71, suddenly Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center, as the result of congestive heart failure. Born in Danville, PA, he was a long time Shorewood area resident. Attended Ohio State University. A U.S. Army veteran. Former President of Primus Electronics and was instrumental in the formation of AAI (Avionics Associates Incorporated), and Communications Associates. He spent his retirement years working at Mega Sports which became like a second family to him. He enjoyed volunteering at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. He was an avid reader, and loyal White Sox fan. He was the consummate outdoor sportsman and enjoyed hunting with his beloved canine companion, Candy.
Preceded in death by his parents, James and Annetta Cranmer; two brothers, William and James Cranmer.
Survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Patty Cranmer of Shorewood; one son, Tom (Amy Manion) Cranmer of Channahon; two daughters, Chris (Phil) Meier of Aurora and Kate (Christopher) Graefe of Elmhurst; seven grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Florence; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services for Robert E. Cranmer will be Monday, February 16, 2009 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Jude Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Masses in his memory would be preferred. Visitation Sunday 4-8 p.m. at:
