Hubert R. Alstott
"Hubie"
Age 83, at rest Thursday, November 27, 2008 at the Timbers of Shorewood, where he resided for the past 20 months. Born in Liberty, KY, he was a Crest Hill resident for 51 years. Life member of Cantigny Post VFW #367, member of the American Legion Post #1080, and member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Crest Hill. He was employed by General Motors in Willow Springs for 38 years. He loved working there as a leader in welder maintenance, and also loved country music, hunting and fishing.
Survived by his son, Dennis (Jeanne) Alstott of Plainfield; his grandsons, Mark (Michelle) Alstott of Joliet and Michael (Nicole) Alstott of St. Petersburg, FL; five great-grandchildren, Olivia and Emma Alstott of Joliet; and Griffin, Hannah and Lexie of St. Petersburg, FL; his brother, Charles (Joy) Alstott of Indianapolis, IN; sister, Lillian (Bill) Sewell of Indiana; sister-in-law, Betty Peterson of Joliet; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Ruth M. Alstott (1995); parents, James M. Alstott and Ader May Rector.
The family would like to extend their deep appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Gawtham Gutta, M.D.; along with Faith, Sharon, Beverly, Dana and Elizabeth and the staff at the Timbers of Shorewood.
Funeral Services for Hubert R. Alstott will be Monday, December 1, 2008 at 9:45 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Ambrose Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Private entombment Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
