I hadn't been aware of Lou's passing, having been out of the Joliet area for many years. When I thought of him today, and found he was gone, I had to write a note. Lou was a wonderful advisor to my father when I was a young child and early teenager. I suspect that much of my mother's current security, as an older widow, is due to how he helped them plan for the future.
Beyond that, I have fond memories of visiting his office when my parents would go for appointments. To my young mind, he was a fascinating person who was an odd combination of a warmly grandfatherly man and someone obviously effective in business. I used to love listening to him talk, while sitting in a chair that could spin around. I also remember when he first got a computer for the outer office and had established boundaries not to cross around his secretary's desk. He was a hoot!
Finally, I still have some of the pages of quotations and jokes he used to send out, that my father shared with me. When Dad died, I found more of them to read, for a few days. Lou will SOOOO be missed. Love, hugs, and prayers to his family.

Deborah and family-
Deepest sympathies to you and yours. We know your father felt loved as he enjoyed your weekly visits and visits from other family members and friends. Spending time with him, keeping him supplied with library books (some, of which, he had read several times!) by his favorite authors, keeping tabs on caregivers, coordinating physician appointments, etc.were all things that he greatly appreciated. Our parents, Fred and Mary Lou Hill, cherished their time with both of your parents Thank you for sharing them with our parents and family. It was a privilege to know them. They will be missed.
Love-
Hill Family

Lou was a good friend and a great mentor. He taught me a lot about life and business. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by many. I'm glad he is finally with his beloved Shirley, he missed her so much. I hope he has a good office for us when I get there.
God bless him and his family.
Your friend and associate,
Dan Ivanich

Please accept our deepest sympathies. Lou was a wonderful fellow--witty, hard working, well read, generous and fun to be with! His intellect, humor and loving spirit will be missed, but not forgotten!
Unfortunately we will be out of town, but we remember Lou and Shirley often, fondly.
Sending our condolences on a life well lived and loved, Hugs, Mike and Judy
