Obituary of Charles A. Hahn
Charles A.Hahn
Age 89. Suddenly Wednesday October 12, 2016 at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital as the result of heart failure with his family by his side. Born in Joliet and a lifelong Romeoville resident until his death, he was the oldest Romeoville native on record. A graduate of Joliet Township High School, class of 1944, and also graduated grade school from a one room school house in Romeoville. A W.W.II U.S. Navy Veteran serving in the Pacific Theater of Battle of Okinawa. Retired from the Will County Sheriffs Office in 1990 attaining the position of Under Sheriff, also known as Chief, after over 28 years of service. A member of the Illinois Sheriffs' Association and Ducks Unlimited. He loved traveling the country hunting and fishing, but what he really loved to do was spend time with his family and friends.
Preceded in death by his daughter Barbara Ann Hill (June 7, 2013); his parents Charles and Rose (nee Vales) Hahn
Survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 68 years Dorothy (nee Mohr) Hahn of Romeoville; his son Charles W. Hahn of Romeoville; his daughter Sandy (the late Dennis) Hartley of Plainfield; three grandsons, Richard Hill of Grayslake, Charlie Hartley of Plainfield and Bryan Hill of Grayslake and only sister, Mary (the late Robert) Kodrick of Plainfield also survives.
Funeral Services for Charles Hahn will be Tuesday October 18, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet.
