Fred G. Havrilla
Age 85. Peacefully, Saturday, October 15, 2016 at his home following a courageous battle with respiratory failure with family by his side.
Born in Indiana, PA and a longtime resident of Minooka. A U. S. Air force Korean War veteran. Former owner and operator of H & H Machinery Movers of Channahon, IL.
Fred enjoyed woodworking and there are many birds with their own homes, thanks to the creative talent of Fred's hardworking, skilled hands. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with family and friends, either small gatherings or large parties, togetherness was important.
Preceded by his beloved wife, De Etta (nee Willoughby) Havrilla (2012); one son, Michael L. Hopkins; his grandson, Michael Brian Hopkins; and his parents, Michael and Lillian Havrilla.
Survived by eight children, Fred Havrilla, Jr., Linda Hoffman, Sue Havrilla, Donna (Joe) Cockroft, Darrell (the late Joyce) Hopkins, Jeffrey (Kim) Hopkins, Debbie Eungard and Dianne (Mike) Kitrall. Dearest grandfather of Chris and Chad, David and Angela, Brooke, Cortnye, Karli and Jacob, Ben and Adam, Callie, James and Claire. Proud great-grandfather of 12. One daughter-in-law, Gaye Hopkins, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services for Fred G. Havrilla will be Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, Romeoville. Interment will immediately follow at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the charity of your choice in his name would be appreciated. There will be no visitation.
