Dear Grandma,

It hasn't really set in for me that you are gone. It will set in on Thanksgiving, Christmas, your birthday, and all the times we would have celebrated with you. You always loved all of us unconditionally, and I'm so thankful for all of the memories I have with you. I'm really thankful for those months after I first graduated from college and moved back home - I was just waitressing at the time, and the more flexible hours allowed me to come play bingo with you during the day at Greenleaf. I know you really loved that. I'll also always remember taking you out for errands and groceries, and how you would stand with my car at the back door to keep an eye on it while I ran your groceries upstairs for you. You were always surprised when I would take all of the groceries at one time, and you would always tell me to just leave the bags on the floor but I always put them away for you. I'm going to miss silly little things like that. But most of all, I'm going to miss your laugh and your smile. Thank you for all you have given me my entire life. I love you always!

I am so glad I got to know you through my sister Laurie. Even though you were not my "grandma" you were known to me and my son Nicholas as Grandma Martha. You are the most sweetest lady I have ever met. I love you dearly. You were always a fun, caring, spunky lady to be around. I will never forget your love for bingo, and playing bingo with you a few times and you always wanting to win!!! I was always happy to sit by you at parties and be the one to help you with anything you may have needed.

It is sad to not have you on earth anymore, but it comforts me to know you will be in heaven with my mom Phyllis, and your sisters.

May your family keep your memories in their hearts, and be happy for the long life you got to live.
