Obituary of Florence T. Balaszek

Florence T. Balaszek (nee Polka) Age 92, of Joliet for the past 26 years, and formerly of the Chicago Hegewisch neighborhood, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 14, 2016 at home with her loving family at her side. Born July 10, 1924 in Chicago, she was the daughter of Walter J. and Sophie (Jaworski) Polka. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Casmir Balaszek; loving mother of Debra (William J.) Malinowski of Joliet, Gerald (Deborah) Balaszek of Englewood, FL, the late Beverly Hockberger, and Les (Karen) Balaszek of Chicago; fond mother-in-law of Paul Hockberger of New Lenox; devoted grandmother of Scott (Jennifer), Mark and Jennifer Malinowski, Daniel (Gosha) Balaszek, Tiffani (Chris) Norris, Kevin, and Nicole Balaszek, Eric and Melissa Hockberger, and Jonathon, Justin and Jessica Balaszek; dear great-grandmother of Fillip, Rose, Bobby, Justin and Kelsey; cherished sister of Theo (the late Edwin) Puklo and the late Frances Polka; and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Florence was very family oriented and faithful to her church family at First Assembly of God, Joliet. She was an avid reader and loved music playing both piano and organ. She will be remembered for her loving servant's heart. Funeral services for Florence Balaszek will be held Friday, November 18, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL. Memorials in her name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
