Robert John Kolar
Age 78. Passed away suddenly at his home on December 2, 2016. Born on June 7, 1938 in Chicago, IL to Jerry and Eleanor (nee Ramel) Kolar. Graduate of Chicago Quigley North High School. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1958-1964 then enjoyed a 34 year career with Fermi National Laboratory before retiring in 2000. Robert enjoyed softball, golfing, watching sports, coaching his children in their younger years, and now watching his grandchildren play sports. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan that loved to travel, especially on cruises.
Survived by his loving wife of 49 1/2 years, Leanne M. (nee Schroeder) Kolar; father to Jeffrey (Kimberly) Kolar and Jennifer (Philip) Walter; Papa to Nathan and Zachary Walter and Jacob and Kayla Kolar; sister Patricia (Rudolfo) Monreal; brother-in law Terry (Patricia) Schroeder; and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents Jerry (1987) and Eleanor (1996).
Funeral Services for Robert John Kolar will be on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 9:45 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 129 S. Division St., Plainfield, IL for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Frankfort, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the Kidney Foundation or Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
