Sterling will be missed, such a great guy. We were in high school together. One time that I will always remember that stands for his strength of character was a Key Club trip we made to Jekell Island off the coast of Georgia. One night we were permitted to go to the pier for some music and dancing. All of us guys were dancing and checking out all the girls. Sterling was propped up against the saftey railing. We tried to get him to join in the fun dancing, but he said his faith didn't allow him to dance. It blew us away! How could you meet girls without dancing? Well we got our answer by watching him (the Wallflower ) attract them like a magnet. Never understood how he could carry on a conversation with several girls at one time without dancing. He was true to his commitments and never wavered. Sterling was a BraveHeart!.

Joanne & family,
We are so very sorry and saddened in the loss of Sterling. We have some wonderful memories of our time with you two at Downers Grove. Sterling had a unique sense of humor and always had a smile for everyone.
He loved the lost, was a devoted soldier of Christ and he's gone too soon.
He was a blessing to us all...and we'll miss him.
In Christian love,
Ken & Wendy King

To the family,
It's wonderful to know that Sterling has served his country and more so served his Savior. His hope of Christ's promise (that one day we will have a heavenly home prepared for the faithful) has drawn near. There he shall find eternal peace and everlasting joy. May the Lord ease your pain as the days go by.

My deepest sympathy. What a wonderful life of service he lived. I knew Sterling as a child, so it was nice to see his video and the happiness he shared with all of you who are his family.

Jo Ann, my love and sympathy to you in the loss of Sterling. It has been many years since I have seen you - perhaps as far back as Amarillo - but I have thought of you often and kept up with your comings and goings through Paula (Looper) Heltsley. You and your family are in my prayers. May the God of all grace give you comfort and strength.
