Obituary of Robert E. Johnke

Robert E. Johnke Age 64. Passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born in Sioux Falls, SD to the late Kenneth and Dorothy Johnke. A resident of Joliet most of his life and a graduate of Joliet East High School class of 1970. Owner/operator of Johnke Tree Service and a member of Grundy County Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid pheasant hunter in South Dakota and a Harley Davidson enthusiast. Surviving are his wife, Fran Dzingeleski of Elk Grove Village; his two children, Chris Johnke of Shorewood and Kimberly (Ruben) Garcia of Crest Hill; two granddaughters, Alexis Johnke and Haley Garcia; three sisters, Nancy (Greg) Griparis of Shorewood, Gloria (the late Victor) Lukas of Rockdale, and Phyllis (the late Robert) Webb of Morris; and one brother, David (Kay) Johnke of Joliet. Numerous nieces, nephews, and family in Illinois and South Dakota also survive. Preceded in death by his parents; one brother, William Johnke; and one sister, Vicky Palacios. Robert E. Johnke will lie in state at Pathway Christian Fellowship Church, 19554 NW Frontage Rd, Shorewood, IL 60404 on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. At his request, cremation rites will follow services.
