Obituary of Irene J. Bakalar

IRENE J. BAKALAR (nee Wilda) "Rene" Age 68. Passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at her home. Born January 9, 1948 to Richard Earl and Maria A. Wilda. A lifelong Joliet resident. Graduate of St. Francis Academy and Joliet Junior College. Retired from Valley View School District after 26 years. Former member of Red Hatters and OCP (Operation Care Package). Irene was an avid gardener and loved to travel. Survived by daughter, Jennifer Lynn Wilda and several other relatives. Preceded by her parents and one brother. Memorial services for Irene J. Bakalar will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, IL. Visitation 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. As it was Irene's wish, cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, donations to Operation Care Package or Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
