Obituary of Arthur D. Wever
Arthur "Art" Wever
Age 80, of Morris, IL and formerly New Lenox, IL, passed from this life Monday December 19, 2016 at Park Point Healthcare and Rehab Center in Morris.
He was born February 5, 1936 to the late Ethel (nee Brown) and John Wever in Willow Hill, IL, where he was raised and educated, a graduate of Newton High School, Class of 1954.
Art served in the U.S. Army and after being honorably discharged, married Martha Drake on July 10, 1957. They settled in New Lenox, IL where they raised their family.
Surviving are three daughters, Carla (Jim) Bianchetta of Morris, IL, Lora (Gary) Patterson of New Lenox, IL and Diana Wever of Morris, IL; granddaughter, Jennifer Patterson; brother, John (Goldie) Wever, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Martha Wever; parents, and siblings, Helen Kibler, Jean Alexander, Manley, Bill, Max and Roger Wever.
Art retired from National Cash Register after many years of service as a technician. He was an avid gardener who loved fishing, the outdoors and cooking; his specialty-soups. He especially enjoyed being with family.
As it was Art's wish, cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service is being planned for the spring at Oak Grove Cemetery in Palestine, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name can be made to Joliet Area Community Hospice or the activities director of Park Point Health Care and Rehab in Morris.
