Obituary of James A. Ingalls

James A. Ingalls, Jr. "Jay" Age 68. At rest Friday, January 6, 2017 at Presence Villa Franciscan following a brave fight against cancer. Born in Joliet, the son of the late James A., Sr. and Lucille W. Ingalls (nee Smith). A lifelong Joliet area resident. Graduate of Joliet West High School, Class of 1966. Retired from Caterpillar Inc. in 1996 following over 30 years of service. Jay was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army, an avid fisherman, a muscle car enthusiast, and he loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles. Surviving is his loving wife of 20 years, Kimberly A. Ingalls (nee Holman) of Shorewood; two sisters, Judy (Lou) Whitmer of Louisville, KY and Peggy (Jim) Blasing of Santa Anna, CA; his mother-in-law, Karyn Hoyt of Joliet; sister-in-law, Robin (Jim) Scott of Shorewood; and brothers-in-law, Bill (Anita) Holman of Merrill, WI and Brian (Angela) Holman. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services for Jay Ingalls will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, IL. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the JOHA Foundation would be appreciated.
