Willie Phillips, Jr.
Age 82. At rest Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at his late residence in Shorewood. Born in Big Stone Gap, VA to the late Willie Sr. and Ruby Phillips (nee Bishop). Residing in Shorewood the past eleven years. A retired truck driver from Teamsters Union Local # 710. Willie was a proud U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Masonic Lodge of Berwyn, IL., an avid fisherman, and an antique car enthusiast.
Survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Phyllis J. Phillips (nee Bellantino) of Shorewood; five children, Mike (Vickie) Phillips of MS, Theresa (Jackie) Green of MS, Karen (Eddie) Bollinger of MS, Sam (Jaime) Phillips of Plainfield and Tressa (Eric) Rice of Tennessee; several granchildren; and numerous brothers and sisters.
Visitation for Willie Phillips, Jr. will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, IL 60431. Interment Friday, January 13, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded.
