Honora "Jayne" Malloy
Age 98. Passed away peacefully on Friday, January 13, 2017 at her home with the assistance of the hospice "Care Team" surrounded by her loving family. Born July 28, 1918 to the late Louis and Margaret Glass.
She was an active, lifetime member of the Irish American Society of County Will, along with her husband and four sons, serving many years as the historian.
Jayne was proud of her Irish heritage, being a graduate of the College of St. Francis, class of 1939 with a bachelor's degree in English and her 20+ years of work at the Union National/First Midwest Bank.
Jayne died the way she lived; with quiet dignity with family around her, she will be remembered for being a woman of strong Christian faith, kind, loving, a teacher, a lady of firm convictions. She was a great role model and a well loved Irish mother who lived a full life.
Survived by three sons; Michael (Alice) Malloy, Daniel Malloy, and Timothy (Colleen) Malloy; grandchildren, Meaghan (Dan) Weber, Kaitlin (Joe) Kirchberg, Michael Dennis (Linda) Malloy, Jr., Sean Malloy, Erin (Tony) Lalich, Kevin (Barb) Malloy, Brian (Laurie) Malloy, Heather Cargle, Elizabeth (Uriel) Lopez, Kelly Malloy, John Malloy; and eleven great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Donald J. Malloy; son Patrick; daughter-in-law Paula; and sisters, Marie Glass and Helen Lyons.
Funeral Services for Honora "Jayne" Malloy will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet at 9:15 a.m. to Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus, 604 N. Raynor Avenue, Joliet where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Entombment Resurrection Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her honor to the Marie Glass Scholarship at Lemont High School would be appreciated.
