Christine O. Berndt (nee Collins) Age 89. Passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at BRIA of Westmont. Late of Shorewood, and formerly of Willow Springs. Born January 19, 1927 in Bonny Blue, VA to the late Edgar and Virginia (nee Gibson) Collins. Dear mother of Fred (Donna) Berndt of Woodridge, IL, Delbert Berndt of Lockport; grandmother of seven; great-grandmother of twelve; and great-great grandmother of two. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by her husband, Ernest F. Berndt (2008); daughter, Carol Sue Burdette (2009); parents; two brothers; and two sisters. Funeral Services for Christine O. Berndt will be held on Thursday, Januray 19, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, IL. Interment Fairmount Willow Hills Cemetery in Willow Springs. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Welcome Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 11461 Bell Rd, Lemont, IL 60439 would be appreciated.
