Obituary of James Michael Gray

James Michael Gray "Mike" Age 60, late of Rockford, and formerly of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Memorial Hospital, Rockford. Born April 4, 1956 in Joliet, he was the son of Joseph and Helen (Lynch) Gray. Mike was a lifelong client of Trinity Services where he often participated in the sheltered workshop program and the horticulture program. Mike had a deep faith and enjoyed participating in the activities of his church, St. Paul the Apostle. He was also involved in Special Olympics and Special Recreation Services of Will County. He will be remembered for his love of music, especially musical productions, his special sense of humor, and his imitations of The Three Stooges. Mike loved everyone he met and was eager to give and receive hugs. He was also an avid sports fan and had several favorite teams. Surviving are his sisters, Kathleen (Richard) Campbell of Rockford, and Susan (James) McQuaid of Warrenville; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents, and one sister, Barbara Jo Gray. Funeral services for James Michael Gray will be held Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet. There will be no visitation. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville, will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mike's name to Trinity Services, Inc., Development Office, 301 Veterans Parkway, New Lenox, IL 60451 (Trinity-Services.org) would be greatly appreciated.
