Obituary of Mary T. Grobarcik
Mary Theresa(nee Ventura)Grobarcik, age 94, of Joliet, and formerly of Lockport and Elwood, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, with her family at her side.
Born on November 29, 1922 in Joliet, she was the daughter of Frank P. and Mary (nee Longhini) Ventura, and attended Lockport township High School. She retired from Silver Cross Hospital where she worked for 43 years in the Housekeeping Department. Mary was a faithful parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church for over 65 years.
Surviving are her two daughters, Carol Costa (Ronald) Aeschliman of Tucson, AZ and Elizabeth Grobarcik (Fred) Nahas of Elwood, IL; one son, James F. (Karen) Grobarcik; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Karen Ventura; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Grobarcik; her parents; one sister, Gloria M. Ventura; and one brother, Joseph A. Ventura.
Funeral Services for Mary T. Grobarcik will be held Thursday, January 26, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to St. Bernard Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Ss. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Joliet Area community Hospice would be appreciated.
