Obituary of Joseph L. Partyka
Joseph L. Partyka
Age 68, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Essington Place, Joliet.
Born February 15, 1948 in Chicago, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Bernadine (Orr) Partyka. He served two tours in viet Nam with the United States Navy serving as a gunner's mate aboard the USS Preble. Joe retired from A.T.&T. where he worked over 35 years as a lineman, beginning with Illinois Bell.
Joe loved music and had his own band in addition to playing in other bands. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, and his love of motorcycles, owning several Harley Davidsons and being known as "Biker Joe."
Surviving are his devoted daughter, Sherry (John) Elkins of Aurora; his son, Joseph L. Partyka, II of Minneapolis, MN; three grandchildren, Ashley, Allison and Jake Elkins; three sisters, Theresa (the late Dennis) Rogers , Linda (Judson) Wilsterman of Morris, and Laura Somers of Crestwood; one brother, Steven Partyka of Chicago; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda Partyka, and his parents.
Funeral services for Joseph L. Partyka will be held Monday, January 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet. Interment with full military honors will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Memorials in his name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
