Obituary of Beverly M. Loucks

Beverly M. Loucks (nee Thomas) Age 67, of Shorewood, IL, passed peacefully, Tuesday January 24, 2017 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. She was born June 14, 1949 in Melrose Park, IL to the late Herschel Thomas and Bernice (Raedeker) Thomas. She was raised in Beaver Dam, WI and then Melrose Park and Maywood, IL areas, a graduate of Proviso East with the class of 1967 and attended Eastern Illinois University. Beloved wife of 47 years to L. Dean Loucks of Shorewood, IL; loving mother of Thomas (Jenny) Loucks of Plainfield, IL, Aaron (Victoria) Loucks of Shorewood, IL, Amy (Ronnie) Quimby of Taylorsville, KY and Rebecca (David) Karl of Poplar Grove, IL; proud grandmother of Austin, Lauren, Jessica "Bird" and Madalyn; Alexandria, Arianna "Air Bear" and Ayden "Bubby"; Tommy, Anna, Emma and Cassie. She will also be remembered by her siblings, nieces and nephews. Bev enjoyed garage sales, couponing and listening to Celtic Thunder. She was a proud cancer survivor who looked forward to the Relay for Life and other events supporting cancer research. She loved her family, was very proud of her childrens accomplishments, and couldn't spend enough time with her precious grandchildren. She truly treasured every moment with them. All friends and relatives are invited to gather on Friday, January 27, 2017 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet from 3:30 p.m. until the Memorial Service begins at 7:30 p.m. Deacon Roger Novak will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name can be made to Joliet Area Community Hospice or the American Cancer Society. As it was Beverly's wish, her remains have been transferred to the Anatomical Gift Association to further medical research.
