Obituary of Elizabeth F. Burkhardt

Elizabeth F. Burkhardt (Corp) Nee Anzelc. Age 88. At rest Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born in Rockdale on May 14, 1928 to the late Anton and Anna (nee Gersich) Anzelc. A lifelong Joliet area resident. Member of the Slovenian Union of America and the Paulites. Survived by her daughter, Ann E. Corp of Joliet; two sisters, Theresa (Peter) Papesh of Joliet and Catherine Emery of Lemont; one brother, Charles Anzelc, Sr. of Plainfield; stepchildren, Karen (John) Holy and John (Connie Menefee) Burkhardt. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded by her parents; her first husband, Francis Corp, Jr.; her second husband, John B. Burkhardt; siblings, Anton (Susan) Anzelc, Mary (Martin) Kambic, Anna (Ed) Montgomery, Joseph (Bertha) Sterle, Johanna (John) Gorc, Frances (Matthew) Senffner, John Sterle, Matilda (Steve) Tadey, William (Catherine) Anzelc, John (Mary) Anzelc; sister-in-law, Evelyn Anzelc and brother-in-law, John Emery. As it was Elizabeth's request, she donated her body to the Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois for the advancement of medical study. A Memorial Mass for Elizabeth Burkhardt will be celebrated Friday, February 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 600 N. Brookforest Drive, Shorewood, IL. Family will receive friends and relatives from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Future inurnment will be private.
