Obituary of John Carl Koga
John Carl Koga
Age 53, at rest peacefully Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family and his canine companion Koko. Born November 20, 1963 in Chicago. He was an avid Chicago sports fan who also enjoyed golfing, nascar racing and cooking. His favorite time of the year was the summer, when he could be found sun tanning and enjoying family time floating in his pool. John enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was always laughing, he was truly the life of the party.
Survived by his wife, Laura Anne (nee DeZee); three children, Nick DeZee, Ashley Koga and Anthony Koga; two grandchildren, Jayce and Bella Koga; one brother, Michael Donna) Koga; two nephews, Robert (Liz) Filipow and Louis (Jessica) Filipow; aunts, uncles, cousins also survive.
Preceded by his father, Michael Koga; his mother, Janet (nee Olson) Ponzevic and his step father, Patrick Ponzevic.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 9:45 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black at Essington Roads Joliet to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Cremation rites will follow the Mass. Inurnment will take place at a later date at St. Mary Immaculate Cemetery.
