Obituary of Joyce C. Bergeson

Joyce C. Bergeson (nee Fellows) Age 84, of Elwood, IL, passed at home Thursday, February 2, 2017. She was born in Joliet, IL on July 14, 1932 to the late Vera (nee French) and Gerald Fellows. Beloved mother of Merry Lynn (Lawrence) Hanson, Kathleen Joy (William) Farrell, Kimberly (John) Ortelli, Art (deceased), Scott Bergeson and Toni M. French; loving grandmother of Emily, Josh, Amanda, Heather, Nick, Matt, Art, Colin, Sabrina, Jordan, Hanna, Elliot, and Lexie; proud great-grandmother of 11; dear sister of Merry Lou (Richard) Pocza and Peggy Lynn (Richard "Sonny") Konc. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins also survive. Preceded in death by her husband, Art (1990); son, Art (2015) and her parents. Joyce, an LPN, retired from Salem Village Retirement Home after many years of compassionate care. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, and knitting caps and blankets for area cancer patients. She will be remembered fondly as the family "supervisor" whose guidance and care will live on in all of us. As it was Joyce's wish, a private service took place at Elmhurst Cemetery in Joliet. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Joliet Area Community Hospice or the McDonald twins and family Go Fund Me account.
