Gary Evan McGowan Age, 76. At rest Friday, February 3, 2017 at Central DuPage Hospital. Born on October 2, 1940 in Peoria, IL to William and Ruth (nee Olson) McGowan. Gary was an avid sportsman who loved trap shooting. He always admired the beauty of an antique car. Retired in 2004 after 40 years of service from GAF Corp. Preceded by his parents and his sister, Kathleen Frelichowski. Survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Suzanne (nee Theobald); his children, Julie (Joel) Winchester, Rebecca (Dave) Fariss and William (Nicole) McGowan; grandchildren, Michael (Pattie) Winchester, Stephanie (Mark) Gregory, Tony Winchester, Adam Winchester, Molly McGowan, Madeline Fariss, Alivia Fariss and Emily Fariss; great grandchildren, Owen Gregory and Jacob Winchester; and his brother-in-law, Dave Frelichowski. Funeral services for Gary Evan McGowan will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, IL. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the Charity of the donor's choice. Visitation Monday 3-8 pm.
