William Joseph Doran

Died: February 5, 2017
Age 65, passed away due to complications with lung cancer at his home with his family by his side. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Cathleen (nee Wiegmann); Children; Christopher, Meagan and Kyle, his brothers, Todd (Nancy), Michael and John; his father-in-law, Robert Wiegmann, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rachael Anne (Ruddy) and Charles William Doran; his brother, Edward Patrick Doran; his grandparents, Mary Alice (Doherty) and Bernard Edward Ruddy, Mary Jane (Todd) and Patrick Henry Doran; and his mother-in law, Joan M. Wiegmann.
Bill was born in Morris, Illinois and raised in Joliet. He graduated from Joliet West High School Class of 1969. He served in the Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Bill and Cathleen were married August 8th, 1987 at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Chicago. Bill retired from TEAM Industrial Services December 31, 2016.
As an avid race fan, Bill could be found with his family at the Grundy County Speedway bleachers every Saturday. He was also a big fan of NASCAR. He loved life to the fullest whether it was celebrating St. Patrick's Day or watching the Cubs win the World Series.
As it was Bill's request, cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Gathering for William Doran will be held on Monday, February 13, 2017 from 9:30 until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, 404 N. Hickory Street, Joliet. Inurnment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Funeral services entrusted to the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, IL.
