Obituary of Daniel L. Lantz

Daniel L. Lantz, age 57, of Shorewood, IL passed away suddenly, February 11, 2017 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center, with his loving family by his side. Survived by his children, Carly Lantz and Kevin Lantz; stepdaughter, Jamie (fiance Jeff Biernacki) Camfferman; granddaughter, Emilee; mother, Jeanine (nee Snider) Lantz; sisters, Leanne Lantz and Lynette Wingate; nieces Jaclyn Wingate, Stephanie (Matt) Hartung; nephew, Matthew Wingate; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father, Jimmie L. Lantz. Daniel was born and raised in Joliet, IL and earned his MBA from the University of St. Francis. He worked for Joliet Junior College for 20 years. Daniel was an avid cook and spent weekends creating amazing meals for his family. When not in the kitchen, he could be found fishing up North, a tradition that began with his late father. Devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend, he will be missed by all who knew him, but his guidance and words of wisdom will live on in all of us. A Memorial Service for Daniel L. Lantz will be held Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet. Cremation rites have been accorded and interment will be private.
