Age 84. At rest Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Symphony of Joliet. Born on October 28, 1932 to the late Anthony and Marie (nee Fonck) Borio. Marilyn was a lifelong Joliet area resident. A graduate of St. Francis Academy in 1950 and St. John the Baptist Catholic grade school. Marilyn married David J. Gregory Sr. on July 21, 1951 and together raised 8 sons. Her life's focus was her family, her faith, and her community. Her deep faith and love of music could be found in her participation in the Diocesan Choir, St. John the Baptist Choir, the Resurrection Choir as well as the church worship commission. She was also a volunteer at the food pantry located at St. John's. Marilyn loved spending time with her family and friends, taking many trips. She loved her cats and was called, "Grandma Cat" by her grandchildren.
Survived by her husband of 65 years; Sons, David J. (the late Deborah nee Claassen (2009)), Daniel C., Paul T., Carl M., all of Joliet, Jeffrey S. (Katherine nee Locknar) of Wilmington, Christopher P. (Susan nee Dieter) of Shorewood, James A. of Micanopy, Florida; one daughter-in-law, Mary Jo (nee Bostjancic) Gregory; one brother, Thomas Borio of Joliet; three sisters, Janet (the late Richard) Azzaro of Lisle, IL, Judy (the late James) Bilek of Mayfield Heights, Ohio, Margie Swarthout of Plainfield, IL; sister-in-law, Annamarie Borio of Joliet. Grandchildren, Kimberly (Razvan) Voichescu, Keith (Amanda), Kristine (Becky), Jason, Kevin, Jeremy, Brittany, Nicki (Peter) Martin, Samantha (Denis) LaBarre, Dyanna (Eamon) Carlos, Loribeth (Jeff) Beck, Matthew, Nathan, Joshua (Elizabeth Seim), Brian, Luke, Karla, Katie and Elizabeth as well as 11 great grandchildren.
Preceeded by her son Anthony J. Gregory (2014), brother Charles Borio (2011), brother-in-law Gerald Gregory (1991), sister-in-law Mae Carol (nee Gregory) Nussbaum (1974), parents-in-law Matthew and Bertha (nee Culik) Gregory.
Funeral Services for Marilyn T. Gregory will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 9:15 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to be used in accordance with the families wishes would be greatly appreciated.
