Irma Kump

Passed away suddenly Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at her home. Born June 18, 1929 in Caramanico, Italy to the late Biaso and Nunziatta (DeAcetis) Bucciarelli. Residing in Joliet since 1935. Graduate of Joliet Township High School. Received her Bachelors Degree from Governors State University later in life. Irma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend to all. She was an accomplished author. Besides writing her novel, "Aprons of Stone", Irma wrote a stage play entitled "Call Every Sunday". She wrote feature articles for the Joliet Herald News about the kindness of people on her many trips to Europe and other human interest stories. Irma also developed an evening course that she taught at Joliet Junior College called "Intergroup Consciousness". Irma was a member of various women's clubs, auxiliary organizations and was very involved at Joliet Catholic High School while her sons were students there. She was a founding member of the Joliet Writer's Club. Irma thoroughly enjoyed Italian cooking, creating her own unique clothing and jewelry, she loved to bake and loved all animals, especially her beloved cats throughout the years.
Surviving are her three sons, Arnie (Carol) Kump, David Kump and Timothy Kump, all of Joliet; two grandchildren, Matthew (Christine) Kump and Nicole (Fiancé, Dylan Frana) Kump; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded by her loving husband of 59 years, Arnold L. Kump (February 23, 2011); her parents; and her brothers, Oreste, Ernest, George and William Bucciarelli.
Funeral Services for Irma Kump will be Monday, March 20, 2017, 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, IL to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Enshrinement Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Memorials in her name to The Visitation and Aid Society or the charity of your choice, would be appreciated.
