Obituary of Mary E. Anderson

Anderson, Mary Elaine Mary Elaine Anderson, 87, of Chicago Heights, Illinois passed away March 20, 2017 in Joliet, Illinois. Mary was born in Chicago, Illinois to Raymond and Ruth Carnahan (nee Martin) on May 17, 1929. She went to high school at Calumet High School in Chicago and graduated in 1947. Mary was married on April 1, 1950 to Walter Anderson. She was a homemaker for almost 67 years. She enjoyed reading, working in her yard, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Ruth Carnahan, brother Raymond, and sister Pat Scheuermann. Mary's brother John Carnahan died on March 21, 2017. She is survived by her loving husband, Walter; her sisters, Ruth Thompson and Barbara Modelski; her children Randy, Brian, Gayle (Dillenbeck), Bonnie (Elkins) and Sally (Anderson-Meyer) and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Joliet Area Community Hospice for their support in her final days. As it was Mary's request, cremation rites have been accorded.
