Obituary of Ronald D. Yankey

Ronald Dean Yankey Age 82. Late of Plainfield, and formerly of Joliet, passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Heritage Woods of Plainfield with his family at his side. He was born July 7, 1934 in Chester, IL to Raymond and Jennie (nee Jones) Yankey. Retired from ComEd in 1993 as a welder and worked for Caterpillar Tractor with 10 years of service. In retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Ronald enjoyed woodworking and loved to read the Bible and to pray for others. A true man of faith, his love for God was an example to many. He wanted people to know Jesus Christ as their Savior. Lifelong member of Fellowship Bible Church. Survived by his four children, Debra (Ernest) Juhant of Joliet, Jeffrey (late Jane) Yankey of Joliet, Patricia (Steve) Becker of Des Moines, IA and Gregory (Elisabeth) Yankey of Owasso, OK; 11 grandchildren, Hannah (Bradley) Anderson, Sarah, John, Justin and Joshua Juhant, Nicholas Yankey, Emma and Carson Becker, Christopher, Noah and Catherine Yankey; and one brother, Darrel (Betty) Yankey. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded by his beloved wife of 56 years, Marilyn A. (nee Nelson) Yankey (June 9, 2016); his parents; and two brothers, Gary Yankey and Robert Yankey. Funeral services for Ronald Dean Yankey will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
