Obituary of Edward A. Drysch
Edward A. Drysch
Age 75, of Shorewood, IL, died suddenly, Sunday March 26, 2017 at home. He was born June 23, 1941 to the late Sophie (nee Jonikas) and Edward W. Drysch in Chicago, IL where he was raised and educated, a graduate of St. Rita High School.
Beloved husband of nearly 53 years to Mary Lou (nee Hazer) Drysch; loving father of Robert (Patricia) Drysch, Michael (Paula) Drysch, and Julie (Sean) Schubert; proud grandfather of Matthew and Ryan; Kristen, Erin and Britney Drysch; dear brother-in-law of Thomas (Dorothy) Hazer and Charlene (James) Rogers. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Stephen; brother-in-law, James (late Beatrice) Hazer; sister-in-law, Bernadine (late James) Caldwell and his grandparents, including his grandmother, Eva Jonikas whom Ed was very close to.
Mr. Drysch retired from Distiller's Co. Ltd. after many years of service. He faithfully volunteered for over 19 years at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center. In his free time, he played in a senior bocce ball league. Ed was an avid reader and lover of movies and could be found several days a week at the Shorewood Public Library. He enjoyed fishing and always looked forward to the annual fishing trip in Hayward, WI. Spending time with his grandchildren was his favorite pastime. Although he was raised on the south side of Chicago, Ed was an avid Cubs fan, however, he could be found rooting for the Sox when they were doing well and no one was looking!
