Obituary of Louis Dassie SR

Louis F. Dassie, Sr. Louis F. Dassie, Sr., age 84, formerly of Chicago, died Monday, September 17, 2007 in Rio Rancho, NM. Retired from Illinois Bell after 44 years of service. A U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Marge (Lilly); parents, Gigi and Ma Dassie; sons, Jimmy and Mike; and daughter, Carol (Greg) Blakely; three sisters, Dorothy, Janet and Bernice; and two brothers, Jack and Don. Survived by his daughters and sons, Margo (late John) McCarthy, Betty (Phil) Cummuta, Lou (Gay) , Bob (Denise), Alice (late Hugh) Rice, Kathie (Mark) Franklin, Tom (Teresa), Rick (Maureen), Steve (Donna) and Dave (Tina); 39 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, September 24, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. from Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, to St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church, 4400 W. 83rd. St., Chicago for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Evergreen Park. Visitation Sunday, 3-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
