I am so sorry for your loss. I connected with Terry last year. He was my third cousin, I believe. I know that he located my great-great grandmother's grave at Indian Camp church. He looked a lot like my Grandpa - shared a picture of himself from a family reunion in the late 60's - all of the Parton men looked alike! To think that we both graduated from COHS - just ten years apart! I am honored to have 'met' him on Facebook - wish I could have met him!
Rest In Peace, Cousin. See you in Heaven!

Roberta. I am so sorry to hear about Terry. Life is very uncertain, but when something happens that you are not expecting it shakes you to the bone. I am praying for you and your family. Being married 49 yrs. is a Testament to you and Terry and the love and life you shared together.
You aren't alone and You can rest assured that Your Lord is right there with you all.
There are many people praying for you all and at this time in your life, Intercessory Prayer is very needed and the Greatest Blessing A Christian can feel..
I love you. You, Ruthanne, Linda and I were the 4 Musketeers in school.
Seems like yesterday and then something like this happens in our lives and Time stands still, but the pain of losing your mate seems like it is there forever and is wearing you down. Nope.
Psalms the 23rd chapter is one of the most familiar scripture quoted and the part that I focus on is Terry and his Lord went through the Valley of the Shadow of Death. Being a Christian, that is one of the greatest blessings we can hold on to. God was there and Terry did not go through the Valley alone and even though you have sorrow now, you will see him again.
Praying for you and I love you.
Rose.

All who knew Terry will miss him. He was a wise yet simple, loving & merciful, honest & trusting, serious yet joyful & humorous man. A true Christ follower. A pleasure to be around. I will surely miss the man that I shared the cover of Sports Illustrated with. Our prayers are with his family. Bonnie & I mourn your loss with you & want to be of any help we can.

My first memory of Terry was him and Roberta sitting with my family while my grandma was in the hospital... I didn't know him at all.. He knew my sister from church. I was touched by the love and support they showed us as strangers. I soon after joined that church .. where Terry was my Sunday School teacher.. I learned a lot from him over the years, he was a true role model of how to be a good Christian. He introduced me to hotdogs with the little lines..that the proper way to say McDonald's was MacDonald's... allowed me to join in with the down home fun at the family reunions.. and how to lose gracefully at words with friends! I only hope that I can be half the great person that he was. He will be missed by many.. Heaven's gain was our loss.

Roberta,
So sorry to hear about his death. You two have been together even longer than us. Rest in the fact he knew the Lord, and we're all headed there some day.
God be with you.

I regret I never got to meet Terry, my grandmother Alta (Parker) Mays talked about our relatives in Illinois. We went to Marion to visit Aunt Molly and Uncle Frank in early 40's, also Muriel Cathcart who lived in Harrisburg. We communicated and that is all, our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, take care and God bless
