Edward Frank Sobota
"Eddie"

Age 93. At Rest Sunday, April 23, 2017 in Las Vegas, NV.  Born in Berwyn, IL on February 27, 1924 to the late Frank and Katherine (nee Surin) Sobota. A graduate of Lane Technical High School in Chicago. He was a proud United States Marine Corps Veteran of WWII, seeing action in Okinawa, Japan and participating in the occupation of Japan. Employed by Electro-Motive for 38 years until his retirement to Simi-Valley, CA and later Henderson, NV. Eddie was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs.

Survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Antoinette (nee Perrone) Sobota; his two daughters, Linda (David) Krippel and Diane Sobota; his son, Robert (Theresa) Sobota;   three grandchildren, Brian (Hilary) Krippel, Shannon and Dana Sobota; and two great-grandchildren, Brian Jr. and Ethan Krippel.  

Preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Frances Mach.  
 
Funeral Services for Edward Frank Sobota will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black at Essington Rds, Joliet to Holy Family Catholic Church, 600 N. Brook Forest Avenue, Shorewood, IL where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery with full military honors under the auspices of the United States Marines. Visitation Thursday morning at the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
