Alan D. Roney
Age 74. At Rest Thursday, May 4, 2017 at his late residence in Joliet. Born in Chicago, the son of Kenneth and Grace (nee Gasser) Roney. Residing in Joliet since 2008. Graduate of Chicago Vocational High School Class of 1960. A U.S. Army Veteran. Retired from ComEd in 1995. Alan enjoyed fishing and thoroughly loved to travel.
Survived by his loving wife, Sheila (nee Blake) Roney of Joliet; two sons, Ronald (Margo) Roney and David (Laurie) Roney; one step son, Brian Jones; one step daughter, Jada (Anthony) Padua; eight grandchildren, Raveysha Peyton, Trisha (Jacob) Clark, David Rehfeldt, David Krause, Casey Jones, Paige, Kaitlyn and Jake Roney; five great grandchildren, Eliana and Juliet Clark, Maraley, Declan and Cian Jones; and one brother, Norman (Maria) Roney. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded by his parents and three siblings, James Roney, David Roney, and Lori Blumenthal.
A Memorial Visitation for Alan D. Roney will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. with a Service of Remembrance at 5:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2211 N Oak Park Ave, Chicago, IL 60707 would be appreciated.
