James L. Clark
Age 97, a longtime Rockdale, IL resident, passed away Friday May 19, 2017 at the Regency of Morris, IL. He was born December 2, 1919 in Joliet, IL to the late Mary (Shiffer) and Thomas Clark, he was raised in the Joliet/Lockport area. A U.S. Army Veteran who served during WWII, he received several awards including two bronze stars.
He was the devoted grandfather of Michael (Merodean) LaRose, Cheryl LaRose, Sandra (Randy) Rzeszutko; Bill Clark, Doug Clark and David Clark. Proud great grandpa of 12 and great-great grandpa of 6. Fond brother of Ronald Clark and father-in-law of Bev Clark. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his wife Joan Clark; daughter, Janice Lacey; son, James Clark Jr. and his siblings.
James, a retired Machinist and Truck Driver, will fondly be remembered as a good natured gentleman. He lived a full life and his family will always be grateful for the care he received these past 5 months. In his younger years, James could be found assisting his wife as crossing guards for the Rockdale Grade School.
