Irene V. Wasniewski

Age 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at her home with her loving family by her side.  Born in Chicago on October 9, 1929 to Stanley and Victoria (nee  Rebacz) Kukla.  She grew up in Chicago and spent her adult life in Morton Grove, Arlington Heights, West Dundee and the Bartlett area.   

Survived by her five children, Thomas (Coby) Wasniewski, Robert (AnnaMarie) Wasniewski, Catherine (Thomas) Anderson, Judith (Edward) Kura and Victoria (John) Robinson; grandmother of  16; great-grandmother of 11; one sister-in-law, Margaret (the late Edwin) Kukla; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded by her parents; her siblings, Lottie (Ray) Krystyniak, Walter (Marie) Latasiewixz, Helen (Mike) Gregie, Chester, and Theodore.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Joliet Area Community Hospice, with a special thanks to Jennifer B., Veveca, Marguerite, Tarra and the entire staff for all of their love, support and care.

Funeral Services for Irene V. Wasniewski will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, IL to Holy Family Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.  As it was her wish, cremation rites will follow services. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
