Age 63. Suddenly on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at her home. Born and raised in Chicago, the daughter of the late George and Hildegard (nee Bartsch) Kransel. Residing in Braidwood, IL the past 20 years. She was employed by Carpenter Liquid Transport as a truck driver for the past 10 years. A Member of the American Legion Riders, Illinois Patriot Guard and former member of Montgomery Jaycees. Kristy was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and enjoyed her work with all Veterans and current Military personnel, standing for those who stood for us.

Surviving is her loving husband and best friend of 23 years, Bob Richards of Braidwood; her son, Jason Richards of Braidwood; sister-in-law of Lori (Bill) Sears of Joliet; two nephews, Karl (Brianna) Sears of Marseilles and Thomas Sears of Joliet and one great niece, Nova Sears.

Preceded by her parents and her brother, George Kransel.

Funeral Services for Kristy Richards will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 8:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, IL. As it was her request, cremation rites will be accorded following services. Visitation Friday 4:00 p.m. until the time of services.
