Dixie Rose Ventsias

Age 88, and a lifelong resident of Joliet, passed away peacefully, Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Prairie Crossing Living and Rehabilitation Center, Shabbona, with her family by her side.

Born March 15, 1929 in Joliet, she was the daughter of Lloyd and Mary Ellen (Winchell) Seeman.  She enjoyed being a member of Wilmington Recreation Club for many years, and also had a passion for dancing.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, a devoted mother, and a caring grandmother and great-grandmother.

Surviving are her children, William E. (Donna) Seeley of Crystal Lake, Kathy (Peter) Kommer, Peter Ventsias, and Spero (Kimberly) Ventsias, all of Joliet; eleven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Ventsias (January 3, 2011); her parents; and two sisters.
